Watch one of my Pollock inspired abstract drip paintings being created. Large works of art are great fun but need concentration. The soundtrack is provided by Basement Jaxx. See the finished painting in all it’s detail on my website.

Six paintings by TF Morgan n the action, drip style originated by Jackson Pollock.

On a beautiful Southern California day, January 23, 2011, Professor Jackdaws draws the parallel between the random aesthetics of raw nature, and the work of painter Jackson Pollack.

Students were challanged to create a short 3 minutes video about a famous 20th century visual artist. Students worked in collaborative groups to create a movie about an artist of their own choice. Students were encouraged to include: biographical information, video clips, images of the artist’s artwork, music and quotes by the artist. After an introduction to the software program iMovie, students worked on researching about their visual artist. Students used books, encyclopedias and the internet for their resources. Once the intial script was written, students learned more about the iMovie program and added; transitions, special effects, voice overs, titles, and credits. This is the end result of many hours of study and work. Be sure to leave these student directors a comment about their first movie.
