Now lets talk about things. I had several ideas for the video for Sunrise, some of them used techniques previously utilized in other videos, some of them were new techniques. However I had been filling my sketch book with some interesting rectangular characters such as horses and humanoids more squared than spherical and wasn’t sure what to do with them. Alot of the imagery I drew matched the Sunrise song, which was originally part of another mini series: (See: YOUR VOICE episode III – much better if you watch episodes 1 and 2 first.) So I had this vision of drawing on a huge piece of glass but didn’t feel good around the idea of bringing a bunch of glass into the office, where to hang it, how I would film it, etc. Then I had the idea of bending the image via mirrors so that there would be this interesting movements of a human being while also seeing the development of this very stylistic art.
