3/7 ‘The Life and Times of Don Luis Bunuel’
In this section: – right-wing demonstrations against Bunuel’s 1930 film L’Age d’Or, which resulted in the film being banned; – the fate/failure of Surrealism; – Bunuel’s trip to America after being offered a contract by MGM. There is also an extract from L’Age d’Or, and reminiscences from friends and colleagues of Bunuel. Documentary from 1984, sorry that the picture quality continues to be poor.
Video Rating: 5 / 5
