Full of good invective as always but I do prefer Jonathan Meades when he is giving me some actual information in his own inimitable way. Throughout most of this he seems to just be indulging opinion and everytime he gets onto some subject of interest something ‘surreal’ happens in order to thwart it and give him opportunity for more meandering. I suppose you can justify it within the ‘surreal’ format he’s ramming home re: thwarted expectations…but its still annoying!
He maketh me to lie down on green pasta was absolutely a LOL
all that innocence means is, knowing…
THE LOP-EAR IS MY SHELTER.
