Minimalist music, abstract art.
While creating media to help stimulate GCSE composition, I wondered about combining Steve Reich style minimalism with its visual antithesis, abstract expressionism. I don’t know whether others agree, but I always thought Jackson Pollock’s drip technique suited minimalism. Mind you, I’m a drummer, so what do I know about music?

“Mind you, I’m a drummer, so what do I know about music?”
Drummers do way more with rhythm than other musicians tend to.
@Mihangeliago hey you like jackson pollock much
Ta!
Ta!
That’s good. What was Picasso said, something along the lines of “It took me four years to paint like Raphael, but a lifetime to paint like a child”.
Please refer to my original comment on the video to see what I did and what it’s about.
great music here loved it wow awesome
nice!!!!!!!!!
Neither the drawing nor the music is worthy of this many views. There are a lot of pollack programs online designed for any joe to have fun with. They are crappy and in this video a highly crappy result seems to have been generated as the user did not have any visual skills. They could have at least picked better colors. The music is bad too. There are a lot of artistically poor videos but why should this get so many views??
@jonduff77 No he hasnt! He’s even used some tasty metric modulation there.
My nephew makes similar artwork. He is three years old.
@D64Studio wow our art is similar very nice work indeed
I like how it came out in the end. do abstract as well, but iv never done it through the computer.
I like this.
You have to be good to make a complete mess look presentable.
It works. Very clever.
If you love abstract art you should check out this new channel. Great art with great music. Guarantee you wont be let down! Mystery Art, the new movement!
@Mihangeliago
All creations need a creator.
thats a cool program….pollock would be amazed and concerned…hahahahhaa
To the up-loader, I like you great sense of humor.
Quite shit, really.
Well, I was following the flow of the music with my mouse finger in real time. I mean, it was a computer program ‘creating’ the ‘paintwork’, it was I who responded to the sound and used the technology accordingly. Does this make sense? Cheers,
M
Seeing the process on computer replay is a good substitute for observing the layering of paint on canvas. It might be cool to see this in reverse to appreciate the construction and deconstruction. Very nice presentation… your hand is actually creating it, not sound automated?
Thanks!
