@villarte Really? cool. Goes to show ya that one’s artistic “decisions” can be very subjective… not unlike a musical composition. Ultimately i felt that that initial shape/stroke was a bit too straight compared to the curving nature of the rest of the piece. But I’ll think about what you said about contrast in the next one…
@johndeecken Ok, I see! In my opinion though, I thought that initial heavy stroke was perfection! Created such a good contrast with the rest of the painting. Kinda hated to see it removed so quickly. I guess we are still learning as an artist, right? Because I could tell that you weren’t happy with it. What is it that is still holding you back a bit? Very interesting ideas going on here, huh? That’s what I love about being an artist! It can get pretty deep:)
@villarte Well, i really wasn’t happy with the initial application of that long stroke. It was also a bit of a heavy color. But the result slightly burnt or rusted look I found to be very pleasing. Sometimes that’s how it is. A lot of wasted paint sometimes.
Question: What made you almost remove more paint than you put on in the video?
Go JohnnyD. . . keep the creativity flowing… good stuf…
Brilliant! Cut! Check the gate! Print!
